DJ
José Miguel: OK! My first party was the year party of the ending
of my 6th grade in a small school where I used to study. In that moment, a had
a “Pioner AMP (amplifier)” and a “Pioneer Tourntable” and other classmate had
some staff, so I get paid for that party; that was my first one ever DJ. After,
I started to sell cassettes in a park of the city of Maracay, having two point
one in a donwtown venter and the other in a park.
While
the life goes, I started to travel always with my music everywhere, then I get
in a college at Bristol UK. In the program of studies, I learned how to read
music, firts steps into batery, but nothing seriuos was at the free parties at
Bristol City where I used to live , like bad boy style drumm and bass, get into
the getto and I started to pinch againg for money, for example, in the
comunitary center in an Afro descendance community in Bristol I drove the
Malcolm X party. And so on a lot of more free parties. These was betwing 2001
and 2008.

Reporter: aww many of us have been broken sometime in life but
it depends on us, if we do make that bring us down, I guess you never bring
down your mixing right? Do you have any project in mind?
DJ
José Miguel: Yeah help the people who are in need, that is my
target every day.
aka
Reporter: OK that’s nice but in your career as a DJ I mean, but
as you mention helping others who are in need do you combine both DJ work and
social activities?
DJ
José Miguel: Yeah! Some people question about the electronic music
while I was in my studies of comunity fitness; we used to help every friday to
the children with discapacity. By that, I analized that the music its one good
tool for work with children in certain discapacities, so my music destiny is
for those that fell free with this sound. I like too work a lot with the
community and feel good about it.

DJ José Miguel: Well its the
first connection with ‘Acid Resistance’ the colombian label with our group the
‘Old Skull Collective’. The DJ from Caracas Mente Yario, my best friends and
others from different parts of Venezuela. We are carring on this event with our
money; if we lost iis OK coz its the firts ever event of that magnitude and we
are expecting a big start for all the members.
aka
Reporter: And all are friends?
DJ
José Miguel: Yeah, but Yario Mente and I know each other for years
now, the rest of the members are integrated recently.
aka
Reporter: That is so great! I asked that, as many people says
that working with friends is to gain future enemies, what would you tell people
about that?
DJ
José Miguel: I dont think so, we are friends from childhood all
life; we are real friends in the bad and in the goods and we can tell about it.
aka
Reporter: That is nice Jose. Now, are there any special advice
for people specially the youth that wants to start a DJ career?
DJ
José Miguel: Well just trust ur heart and becarefull coz life its
dangerus and have so many routes so be whise and u are the best
aka
Reporter: OK! Which are the main things that a person who has
no idea of being a DJ got to learn, handle or know?
DJ

aka
Reporter: what kind of studies it is needed to be a good DJ
like you?
